[Week 9] - Devlog 18 November 2024

This week marked another significant leap forward for our team, with notable progress across both the artistic and programming fronts.

On the artistic side, one of the standout achievements was the completion of the waterfall asset. This beautifully animated waterfall will serve as a dramatic visual element at the end of the map, adding both a sense of wonder and a natural boundary to the game world. Additionally, the artists have been hard at work creating a variety of environment assets that will enrich the game’s world. These include detailed designs for soil textures, rocks, and bridges, all of which contribute to a cohesive and visually appealing landscape. Together, these assets enhance the immersive quality of the environment, making exploration more engaging for the players.

Meanwhile, the programming team has also accomplished a great deal. They successfully implemented several key gameplay systems, including the Quest system, which introduces objectives and rewards to drive player engagement. The Building system has also been developed, allowing players to construct and customize structures as part of their journey. NPC Interaction has been another focus, with a robust system now in place for players to communicate with non-playable characters, adding depth to the narrative and gameplay experience. Additionally, the team has integrated bubble text, enabling dialogue or thought bubbles to appear during interactions, making conversations more dynamic and visually intuitive.
